Newcastle CBD & Heritage
The city centre concentrates Newcastle's heritage wedding venues — Christ Church Cathedral crowning The Hill with Gothic Revival sandstone, Newcastle City Hall with its marble staircases and civic grandeur, and Customs House on the harbour foreshore. These are the venues for couples who want architectural weight and a sense of place, all within walking distance of the CBD and the waterfront.
The Newcastle Coast
Newcastle's coastline is where the city meets the Pacific — from the heritage art-deco arches of the Ocean Baths to the wild sandstone of Burwood Beach. King Edward Park's Victorian rotunda is the most photographed ceremony spot in Newcastle, NOAH's on the beach and Merewether Surfhouse give you direct ocean frontage, and Hickson Street Lookout offers a secluded clifftop ceremony above Glenrock. Lake Macquarie & Waterfront

Port Stephens & Coastal North
North of Newcastle, the coastline turns wilder — towering dunes meet sheltered bays at Birubi, Nelson Bay and Fingal Bay. B Farm in Bobs Farm brings a rustic brewery estate with on-site stays, and Catherine Hill Bay Surf Club sits on a historic mining village beach on the Central Coast border. Port Stephens is the region for couples who want a beach wedding with a sense of escape — the drive north is worth it for the light alone.
The Hunter Valley Vineyards
Two hours north of Sydney, the Hunter Valley is wine country — rows of vines, sandstone walls, gravel drives and big skies. Peppers Creek Barrel Room, Bimbadgen, The White Barn Pokolbin, Dark Horse Vineyard, Chapel Mon Coeur and Greystone Estate cover everything from Tuscan-inspired chapels to private 10-acre luxury estates. The Hunter Valley faces west, so the sun sets behind the Brokenback Range and the whole valley turns gold for the last hour of the day — the single best golden hour in the region.
