Couples' love, in their words

Real reviews from the couples who trusted us to capture their day across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley.

The review that says it all

In their own words

The team went above and beyond to make our day (and photos) PERFECT. To take someone that is quite camera shy and have her comfortable from the first few minutes was nothing short of a miracle. You can see how passionate they are about their art and it was truly a joy to watch them work.

Stories behind the frames

A few days I remember

Brittany Keyser

Merewether Beach, NSW

I remember this day at Merewether — the southerly came in halfway through the ceremony and instead of fighting it, we leaned into it. The wind in the veil, the spray off the waves, the couple laughing through all of it. Some of my favourite frames of the year.

“The team went above and beyond to make our day (and photos) PERFECT. To take someone that is quite camera shy and have her comfortable from the first few minutes was nothing short of a miracle.”

Rachel & Greg

Lake Macquarie, NSW

This was a 40-degree day at Lake Macquarie — the kind of heat where most photographers are sweating through their shirts. Rachel and Greg never once complained, and neither did I. We moved the portraits into the shade of the boatshed and shot the whole session in diffused light. The gallery came out so soft and romantic that half the guests thought it was overcast.

“It was a 40 degree day, and absolutely nothing was an issue. They were so accommodating, friendly and professional, and knew exactly what needed to be done when and where. I HIGHLY recommend them — the best in the business!”

Leana & Cliff

Hunter Valley, NSW

Leana and Cliff got married in the Hunter Valley on one of those wild, windy spring days where the vineyard rows act like a wind tunnel. I remember clipping her veil back myself between the ceremony and the portraits so it would not fly away — which is the kind of thing you do not think about until you are standing in a vineyard in 40-knot gusts. The wind ended up giving us some of the most dramatic, alive portraits of the season.

“We booked John for our wedding and he was amazing — extremely professional, friendly and a talented photographer. He knew exactly what to do and even helped me clip my veil in so it wouldn't fly away in the wild wind!”
"John was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire wedding planning period. He was communicative and explained the process. On the wedding day he was fun, made us both comfortable, and the delivery of photos was super quick!"
