01
The setting
The three spaces — each with its own character — sit within a heritage building, giving the venue texture and weight. The interiors are clean and modern, designed to be dressed up or down, with the original architecture doing the heavy lifting.
02
The light
The heritage windows throw natural light across raw brick and clean white walls, which is a gift for interior portraits. Being on Watt Street means the city's grid of streets gives clean, architectural backdrops for couple portraits outside, with late afternoon light raking down the hill.
03
The flow
Ceremony in one space, cocktails in another, dinner in the third — the three-room layout lets the day move through the building without ever leaving it. It's a self-contained urban wedding in the heart of the city.
Photographer's perspective
A note on the light
Ravella is the venue I send couples to when they want an urban, editorial wedding in the city. The heritage windows on Watt Street throw the most beautiful directional light across raw brick — it is the kind of light you usually have to travel for. The three-room flow means the day moves through the building naturally, and I never have to leave for portraits because the city grid is right outside the door.
